I’m so glad this past weekend worked out to do a family session for the Smiths. The weather was gorgeous, all their family was in town, and they were celebrating Chara’s graduation from high school. Zachary and I have truly enjoyed getting to know this family over the past year as Kevin Smith has pastored New City. As they have invited us into their home and shared meals with us, I have noticed just now incredibly close their family is. I wanted to capture that as well as their amazing energy!
I LOVE returning clients, not just because you know they enjoy your work, but also because you get to build a relationship with them. The Deatons are just pure awesomeness. Laid back, fun, and so much love! I have enjoyed watching the kids grow up through the few years I have known them. They always bring a smile to my face.
What I love most about being a part-time photographer, is that most of my clients end up being people I already know and have a relationship with. We happened to meet this wonderful couple at church. Lane and Zachary immediately bonded over their love of fine men’s clothing (ehhem… bowties) and Emily and I over teaching. Rarely do you a meet people that have such physical beauty while also having a sweet and sincere character, but these two definitely have both of those things. It was an absolute pleasure to work with them because of their humility with each other. While telling me the story of their engagement, Emily commented, “When he asked me to marry him I thought, ‘Really? YOU want to marry ME?!” We all genuinely had so much fun together during the session that we ended up hanging out afterwards. I love when people who you already know become your clients, who become even closer friends after doing sessions for them. Super pumped to shoot their wedding in July!!!
